The GM EV1
The EV1 was the first electric car built by General Motors, it was made to addres the requirement of Californian law at the time for automakers to start making zero emission cars. 800 were made from 1996, all cars were leased to customers with the final cars leaving private customers hands in 2004. Today the remaining cars that wern't crushed were donated and used in either museums or university labs, there are still a few used in GMs own test fleet as well. |

This weeks weird car of the week is the Reva Electric car from India.
The Reva has a top speed of 65km/h it takes 2.5 hours to charge to 80% and 6 hours to charge to 100%, on a full charge it has a range of around 80klm . It’s a tiny 2 door car but is does has four seats althouth the rear seats are classed as "comfortable for minors". The AC model has a pre-cooling feature of the air-conditioning that you can start from the central looking remote. Its priced around the equivalent of $7500 Australian. |

Toyota Century
This weeks weird car of the week is the Toyota Century which is one of Toyotas most expensive models in Japan.
It is oddly styled and in fact looks a lot like a 1970s American sedan with its large expanses of chrome that extend from the front bumper to the rear and plenty of wood inside across the dated and very square dashboard. |

This week’s weird car of the week may or may not be familiar to some of our listeners that were buying a car in the 1950s. We are taking a look at the Lloyd Hartnett which was an unsuccessful small car that was launched by Sir Laurence Hartnett who was famed for getting the first Holden on the roads.

This weeks weird car of the week is the Hindustan Ambassador from India.
Its the first car to be manufactured in India, has been sold new ever since its inception in 1948. It was originally based on a Morris Oxford. Today the engines have been replaced with more modern Isuzu units. Rumor has it when a UK company tried to sell them in the UK as a retro car in the 1990s they almost needed to be rebuilt to improve the qualilty, even the water was drained in case of any water born disease in the Indian water. |

This weeks weird car is a 3 wheel car from the UK called the Reliant. A few models were made the most famous was the reliant regal that was used on TV shows like George and Mildred, Only fools and horses, and Mr Bean. Production started around the mid 1950s and finished with the Reliant Robin in 2001. The cars were made from fiberglass and started life with a 660cc motor later upgraded to 850cc. 3 wheelers are popular in the UK as you only need a motorbike license to drive one |

This weeks weird car of the week is East Germany's Trabant P601
Over 3 million built between 1967 to 1991.
The body was a type of plastic similar to fiberglass reinforced with cotton. The engine was a two cylinder two stroke that was air coooled.
