This weeks weird Car of the Week is the BMW Isetta
The BMW Isetta bubblecar had it origins in Italy where a company known as ISO, who previously made scooters, started to produce a micro car in 1953 based around their scooter motor. Originally intended to be a 3 wheeler there were 4 wheels altogether with the rear wheels spaced close together. Entry to the car was via a single door that was hinged at the front. The steering wheel swung out with the door to provide access to the bench seat that could seat 2 people. A parcel shelf was directly behind the seat with their spare wheel and tiny 236 cc engine below the shelf. |

This weeks weird car of the week is the Chery QQ from China
The Chery resemblence to the Daewoo Maitz is more than just a coincidence, rumor has it that the makers of the Chery QQ hired some of Daewoos staff between the time of Daewoo's Colapse and Dawoo being bought out by GM. GM have since tried to stop Chery making the QQ, but Chinese copyright laws say there is no problem with the QQ being sold in China where it outsells the Maitz 4 to 1. There was never a patent applied for the Maitz in China. |

This week our weird car of the week is a special car that is being launched at the Geneva Motorshow this week.
Designed by the German Loremo AG design group the ultra efficiant car is expected to go on sale around 2009. The Loremo is powered by a 2 cylinder Turbo Diesel engine with 20 hp and 160km/h top speed that only needs 1.5l per 100km.
The space age looking car uses new materials to create such a light weight car to help improve fuel efficiency. |

This weeks weird car of the week originates in Australia, it’s the Ford Fairlane but modified in the UK by a company called Coleman-Milne and sold to funeral homes as a hearse.

The Amphicar The Amphicar was an amphibious convertible that was made in Germany from 1961 to 1968, Total production was 3,878 cars with most of these being sold in the US. The company who made the car was hoping for much more sales than it received but the car had several quality and reliability issues that caused buyers to stay away. |

Argentina's Ford Falcon The Ford Falcon started life in Australia as the XK in 1960 and was based on the then new 1959 US Ford Falcon. Argentina also started making their own version of the 59 car around the same time, only they didn't stop making it until 1991.
